Q:

S@*!#^, Damn***#>+++#@@#

Yep, I F@#&*# up again!! Changing the spacer/baffles in my SS, used new 1″ Fender Washers, etc. Damn, they sure are pretty and shiny. Well guess what…..the one (washer) butted right up against the barrel is wedged, and I can’t get it out. @#$%^&*

I’ve fought with that damn thing for two nights now, can’t get it to budge.
I use to have a reasonable amount of patience. With aging, I have lost a lot of things…one of them being……………”PATIENCE”!

So before I implode, does anyone have any ideas.

There now, are you feeling sorry for a “Little Old Man”?????

Appreciate the help guys!!!!!!

A strong magnet on a stick may get the stuck washer out…

You can remove the barrel without touching the trigger or breech. Just take out the screws holding the barrel bushings. That’s all there is to it.

I think I’m just going to let well enough be. I’m extremely capable of making a bad thing worse! It’s not affecting the use or accuracy of the rifle, just can’t change barrels. Guess it boils down to the fact that I’m not real comfortable tearing down the cocking mechanism to remove the barrel from the breech.

I have put aside the idea of explosives, heavy hammers, and cutting torches though. 😛

Thanks, 😀

Shaky; Have you tried to disaemble the rifle and cure the problem? With a wedgie problem as you’ve described there my be little else for you to do.

I hope large hammers and explosives don’t become necessary. Keep us posted! AKULA

try heating up the aluminum body of the gun; where the washer is; with a heat gun (hair dryer) it may expand it just enough to let the washer fall out. Just a thought, never actually tried it myself.

The quick fix: Go to Home Depot and buy a large hammer. Then go to local bar and contemplate how to cure what is causing all this stress. It won’t solve the stuck washer problem, but you may feel better getting one up on “the machine”.

Shaky,

There should not be a washer touching the barrel. You should have a spacer going from the front bushing about 4″ long then have the washer butting up against that.

Have you tried removing the barrel and using the barrel to push it out?

We have instructions on how to remove the barrel in the quick reference section.

If you can remove the barrel from the front take out the threaded bushing in the back of the gun were the tank screws in. Remove the bolt and barrel through that hole. Now you will have a clean view all the way through the gun. Take a broom stick and push it out.
