Q:

New Condor valve

Been some rumblings about it elsewhere. I called AF to see if I could buy one. Supposedly, this new valve solves the 3000psi fill pressure issue in the Condors and makes them quite consistent.

Issue is that if your Condor is under warranty, they will replace it. If not….. $80 to get the replacement.

They wont sell them seperately though. I called and tried to buy one…no-go. Asked if there were plans for an updated Talon valve and was told…’nope!’

I too was surprised but unfortunately it is the way of future.

I bought a LCD Tv 6 months and now have a nice big black square in the middle of the screen? I call Best B_y and say come on 6 months left on the warranty I either want to upgrade or buy an extended warranty they go the can’t make the decision so I am about give them a nice well vocalized loud respose during 1 pm on a Saturday just to show my confidence in their ability to accept any form of responsibility.

Just glad AF gave me something but still as you said no excuse for something not shooting as advertised.

Randy

I was speaking towards the way AF handled the whole thing… If I dropped the bank for a Condor and it wouldn’t shoot at 200bar i’d be pissed and even more so when they deny there is an issue AND then blame it on the operator….

You did the right thing and asked about the warranty, amazing they would try and not give you the valve and even go as far as to put you off, until you questioned their integrity, talk about sidestepping to back peddle…

To many people their warranty is worse than the Korean outfits, since the line they used on you is probably the typical line used for those trying to get their Condors to work as advertised…

It would appear that T. Gaylord writes the AF list of excuses as well as the false information/propaganda reports…

I don’t even think it was fair to have you pay for shipping, isn’t $600 for a not functioning as advertised rifle enough!!!

What a bunch crap from AF!!! 😡

Yeah but for the cost of shipping it was worth it too me. 🙂

My Condor is a few years old when I called Rachel at AF she said she would have to check and then emailed me back and said sorry it was covered. 🙁 So key point here is I stayed polite she is a good lady I then questioned the if their advertised warranty was equal to the warranties offered by the korean rifles and why my Condor would not fill to the AF advertised 3000 psi???

She then emailed back and they upgraded my valve free of charge i was out the shipping but the improvement is incredible.

Randy

Wow, not liking that deal, I mean it’s cool they finally did it but WTF…

🙄

Damn good point there shrpshtr.

Or…. try a couple strings starting 24-2500psi and shooting until velocity drops out of the range you want to shoot (this may be as low as 1600psi) If you are happy with the velocity and shot count then just use it at that fill range and a SCUBA tank fill would last a lot longer before needing to be topped off.

Adam do you think i have an old valve or a defective one?

Sav,

Call em and ask politely that they replace your valve with a new one. You are probably going to have to send your tank in for them to fix it.

Ok. I went back and read this whole thread!!! Phew!!! How in the !@#$%^@ is it even possible that I bought a gun made just this year and it could have the old valve???? My gun does not shoot high numbers till it gets to 2200-2300. 3000 PSI fill .22 cal. C.P.’s 14.3 grains p.w. at max setting yeilds a low of 829.7 a high of 885.4 and a avg. of 862.2 This from a gun that will push them past 1300 when it wakes up. Should I be on the phone to A.F. tomorrow?

I was. I sent you a PM.

Adam, I did test it out, why do you think I’m so happy. Pigeon 55 yards (lazered) pooooof…feathers. Bid wow factor. Want the old valve? On me.

Sure I will take it…if you are serious. 😆

Anyone who bought a new valve willing to sell/give me their old one?

Guys, I sucked it up and bought a new valve. Unf**kin’ believable. 1st shot, 3K fill was 1140 FPS with a Crosman Accupell. I’m not happy at having to pay $105 but I’ve tried everything else to make it work properly and now I’ve found it. I now find myself trying to settle it down a bit. Well worth the money, this seems to be the answer to the Condors problems. Bitching, moaning and complaining (like I did) won’t cure your Condor like this new valve has. Just offering my $.02. JFK

Forgot to mention: I have an Anthony266 110 gr hammer, nothing but the best.

Thats great to hear. Now go out and kill something with it. 😆
Now send that old condor valve back to airforce with postage due and tell them next time do it right to begin with.
