Most used hunter Poll

In Pic’s or person what airguns have you seen take more game or pest? I may have missed some but these are the one’s that seem to come up the most.

I intended to buy a new .25 barrel for my S410, but the new stupid laws forbid the .25 ammo for airguns and more than 1000fps. So I’ll stick with the .22.

Resume I can’t use a light pellet on those super powerful Gamos but I can use an Eun Jin .22 in my 950+ fps S410, laws made by guys in suits that don’t know a sh** about guns. 👿

I live on the Prairies and the wind here never seems to stop. Mostly ground squirrels is what I go after 50 meters and up (they are smart) and I used to use a Patriot springer but the 26 ft lbs and light 14.9 grain pellets launched around 850 to 900 fps really got moved around in wind where as my Condor using 28.9 Eun Jins at around 950 fps stay on target WAY better. I have lots of 1 shot hits and kills where as the 14 grainers took more.

Unfortunately precision shooting cannot counter physics and wind deflection, hence my decision to go to the .25 with even heavier pellets.

You guys are probably going to laugh at me, but why isn’t daisy on the list? I have a model 990 that I bought 12 years ago tha has taken 4 or 5 squirrels and also has some tweety birds to its credit. I love this gun and wonder why they discontinued it. It is a multi pump pneumatic, or it switches to CO2 power. It’s accurate and powerful, within it’s range.

Almost double the cost of a Condor and half the power but obviously more refined in many ways. Unfortunarely nothing I kill is closer than 50 yards most around 100 hundred yards so I really need the extra FPE at these distances. 🙂

But still hard not to appreciate the 410 even thought it wouldn’t work for me. Gee I still like the Monsoon too, why did I ever get into airgunning????8)

What kind of quarry do you hunt?

I’ve seen an S410 shot down a crow at 132m
My future S410 shooting all kinds of flying quarry at 100m.
Bunnies 😆 at every distance you want.

I really think that’s all about precision!

Lie…. 😳

If that was truth I would not put my almost match HW97K in a closet and buy a S410 LOL 😆
Now I’m really into destroying stuff and maybe try 200m shots.
Bored of shootin paper and FT targets. 😡

I hear you Randy,

I am in the same boat, rarely get to shoot at less than 50m, but I really like the FX range.

A little bit offtopic, can anyone post a link here for Cygnus gun (i believe it’s a S400 right?)

He has an Air Arms S410 ERB (The S400 is single shot, 410 is a 10 shot)

Theres a new version out that replaces the bolt with a side lever and thats here –

And here you can see my new side lever alongside Cygnusx’s slightly older bolt version.

Logically the Crosmans must win simply because they are the most widely available and prevalent guns on the list. After that though, and taking out the fact that we are a Condor/Talon site, I think that the AA410 will rank very highly.

Cool, I’m pleased that I didn’t offend you. I guess that you know who the one person is who voted for Crosman. I just got my pump today. Now that I have a good supply of high pressure air, I will begin more intensive training with my SS. I hope to soon be one with my SS as I am with my 392, and start bagging my pest critters. I have been mooching air from my local dive shop. They have been good about it but I don’t like doing it too often, so I think that I have been using lower than normal pressure for most of my shots. My first shots with full power were an inch higher than before. I need some time alone to really get aquainted with it.

LOL….I’m not offended at all and I totally understand 😀 . The Benjamin/Sheridan are great and I should have added more brands to the list. If we look at the history of airguns the Crosman’s maybe at the top of the list.

Ooopps!, Sorry, I didn’t intend to offend you, or to be preachy. My bad

I don’t cosider the Benjamin/Sheridan guns to be Crosman grade. Even the current production Benjamin/Sheridan guns are much better than the Crosman entry level guns. Don’t get me wrong, I own and enjoy many crosman guns, and their customer service is great. I have killed more squirrels with my 2250 B than my SS. I have a 1377 American Classic pistol that I bought in 1985 that has also taken more game than my SS. I’ve had more fun with that airgun than any other. But then again, I just got my SS and am looking forward to many years of decent kills. Seriously, Cygnus X is my hero! Go Cygnus!

The upgraded Crosmans are everything from powerful and functional, to works of art. I am impressed with many of the guns that I have seen on this forum and the yellow forum. If it wasn’t for the internet, I wouldn’t even know that these things exist. Gotta love the net.

I guess that I’ll have to go with Crosman for the poll.

Have a great day, thanks for the poll.

Well, actually it is a Benjamin. The Beeman guns are great too. Also there is the Benjamin’s relative, the Sheridan, (.20 caliber). Both guns are now made by Crosman. Mine is what has been called a transitional model. It was made by Crosman in Bloomfield, NY, but it is the old design with a beautiful walnut stock and a stamped sheet metal trigger guard. I wish that I had the foresight to buy several of them, oh well.

Yeah, that’s why I put Crosman in the poll to cover the Benj’s and the others. What I meant was the Beeman brand is not listed in the poll to cover the many great hunting guns that they have.

I haven’t owned my Talon SS for very long so it hasn’t taken much game. The bigger part of the picture for me, is that I have taken so many rats, tree squirrels, and ground squirrels with my Benjamin 392, that there isn’t much left. My 392 has served me well for 15 years. I am enjoying my SS, and look forward to bagging some pests, but my 392 is awesome.

392’s are great guns. One brand that I missed was Beeman’s. 😳
