Q:

Meet the Taipan Mutant….(updated)

.22 cal multi shot.

Heres the whole family…. :8: :8: :8:
yeh the baby is only 22.75″ long….

These don’t discriminate… left or right. Just flip the linkage over and away you go. (this is a pic of the Taipan 2 but they are basically the same, Predesessor of the mutant)

Pretty sweet trigger if i might add…

I will have more info to follow in the coming days…. I figure i would at least throw some pics up …. and get this ball rolling.

They made in Ukraine…..

and now they are available in the US…..

The manufacture claims….

60 shots at 34 FPE…. 250 bar fill .22 cal.

They use CZ barrels…

also avail in .17 cal.

I filled one up tonight to 200 bar and loaded a magazine with jsb 18’s …. it shot 943-947 the whole 12 shots

These come with a soft case. 2 12 round mags.( they fit the Pred’s and other long pellets) a single shot tray, fill probe, orings and tools to adjust the Hammer spring. and to remove the baffles from the shroud….

Tommarow i will take some more pictures and start shooting these…

So did anyone get a Taipan Mutant from the latest WWAG shipment? After excellent reviews, I hope this bullpup doesn’t go P12 on us (*cough cough* empty promises).

I can’t see buying a small gun like this to have to put an after market moderator on it. If it comes back yard friendly that’s another story. Maybe rkr will ship his Viking over to me to play with but up until now he has been very resistant to the idea. Some folks are shelllfish.

Whaat, you are calling me crustacean now that I refuse to loan you my favorite gun? That’s it, you lost your chance for ever getting a loan 😆

Actually if we talk about quieting a short gun it is not that simple. I’ve done quite a lot of tricks (all that I know and I do know quite some) to my Viking and it is still not as quiet as my 12 fpe Scorpion with HW silencer. Perfectly back yard friendly but you just can’t change the physics. A short barrel needs a big air blast to move that pellet and quieting that blast with limited volume is tough. So, if you see a 8″ barrel gun with 5″ silencer you know it’s never going to be as quiet as a 15″ barrel gun with 8″ silencer.

what are they selling for?

Dave

As of February, 2015 the price was $1400 USD. Not cheap. That’s a bit high in my opinion, but then no one asked for my opinion.

The standard is very quiet. Very quiet! So of course the shorty will be louder, physics is a bitch. I think the end use of the shorty is key. The cool thing about the Taipan is the gun has a really wide range of velocity without having to mess with the regulator. So I view these short bullies as sneaky guns. I would attack the noise level by turning the gun down to 830 FPS with the 15.89 JSB. This would use a lot less air and the noise would not be a factor.

No worries. They will come from the factory shooting 850 fps 15.89s

Heck let me know about the beebitty baby. No problem tuning her down she will be more accurate. I don’t mind 830-850 killer beez. And I just read the email at WWAG new stocks????

Tony will get his hands on one soon.

they have a good size (diameter) shroud… plus I felt the std was pretty quiet.

I’ll let yah know when I get mine….

I’m not at liberty to say much more than what steve put out in his email He sent out with updates. ” the tauman mutants should be head our way this week”

So looks like they are on the way.

Won’t be long now.

Thanks Soze the acknowledgement is priceless and I say that in the most sincere of ways. To be honest I might have jumped too soon bringing to light what I was told by this vender who threw me under the bus. I have come to these boards for information about my hobby: PCP Airguns. I am a consumer and our airguns are expensive as hell so beside screwing around with everyone and having a great time…..WE SHARE INFORMATION and help one another out to make the best choices…………this was my intent posting what I posted on Yellow and yes in hind sight which is 20/20 it maybe not have been all that well thought out but my intentions were in a good place. There is one great thing that did come from what I provided on the Yellow Board and the fire storm that Bone Head Steve from Yellow brought on…..Vulcan Airguns is NO JOKE the owner- Manufacturer has stood up and said WE STAND BY OUR PRODUCT and guess what that was not lip service Ask Ville and everyone else who has all received the new Modifications sent to them from Yvegenia. I may also eat my words and one day buy another Cricket even though they stiffed Vulcan with the stocks in the end we all benefited from this with upgrades and a new stock maker. It won’t be the first time I eat my words.

If WWAG was the only vender that I could buy a new airgun from I WOULD not buy it or BUY USED! WWAG gets none of my hard earned money! They are lucky I speak nicely about their customer service outside that I am like an old fucking Italian mobster with a long memory and a general bad disposition. You fucked me I don’t forget.

Care to explain what happened? WWAG said they’ll have some shorty available soon but it’s $1,545. Dman was selling the standards I think for $1,400 when he was the importer on a much smaller scale. I know each business needs to make profits to keep their doors open but I’d hate to see AoA type pricing from exclusive distributors. I know this hobby can get expensive real quick but having affordable options keeps forums like this active and fun. I hope the Taipan becomes more readily available by multiple vendors to keep everyone honest pricing wise. I’d hate for them to become FX or Daystate for those of us on this side of the pond.

I do not care to explain Steve from WWAG knows exactly what happened. It’s called I LOST A CUSTOMER. However it’s on a thread around here about being able to get parts for the Vulcan.
