Just ordered a talon ss 22 got a couple of questions
I have a talon ss 22 on the way. I have it in my head to order a 24″ barrel and shroud it maybe even cut it down to 22″. i have heard about some frame extenders for a 18″ barrel. it is my understanding that a regular 18′ talon is the smae lenght as the talon ss. So in order to keep it quite i need the extnder if i go that route.

Overall length wise, the SS and the Talon are roughly the same yes… but with some important difference’s for what you want.
The AF rifle that comes stick with the 18″ barrel is the short frame “Talon”. The FRAME is much shorter then the “SS” Frame.
You can get an 18″ barrel and put it in the SS Frame and the barrel will end at about the same place as the frame ends and you will need a short frame extender… about 6″ will do.
BUT… if your talking about buying the Talon which is the one with the short frame and 18″ barrel then a 6″ shroud isnt long enough, and will just barely cover up the barrel and provide little to no noise reduction.
