Dura Coated Talon SS finally done….
Yellow Ninja was kind enough to Dura Coat my Talon SS trigger guard and grip as well as butt plate mod.
Getting things anodized when you have only a couple of pieces can be a pain and expensive. So in the past I used paint, truck bed liner or simply polished the aluminum then finish is off with a scotch brite pad. I like the look of brushed aluminum but black looks better on a gun like a Talon.
The problem with paint is it chips, the up side it is easy to fix. The same with truck bed liner. It feels good and is easy to apply but it does chip.
This is what it originally looked like as brushed aluminum:
Duracoat does not fade or chip and is tough. Mine is done in Combat Black and it goes well with the black of the Talon. Here is the finished product. While it may not look a lot differant then paint the finish is a much tougher permanent finish.
Yellow Ninja did a great job!
