Q:

Dura Coated Talon SS finally done….

Yellow Ninja was kind enough to Dura Coat my Talon SS trigger guard and grip as well as butt plate mod.

Getting things anodized when you have only a couple of pieces can be a pain and expensive. So in the past I used paint, truck bed liner or simply polished the aluminum then finish is off with a scotch brite pad. I like the look of brushed aluminum but black looks better on a gun like a Talon.

The problem with paint is it chips, the up side it is easy to fix. The same with truck bed liner. It feels good and is easy to apply but it does chip.

This is what it originally looked like as brushed aluminum:

Duracoat does not fade or chip and is tough. Mine is done in Combat Black and it goes well with the black of the Talon. Here is the finished product. While it may not look a lot differant then paint the finish is a much tougher permanent finish.

Yellow Ninja did a great job!

Get in line, Randy…haha I’ve not been as blunt as you, but I’ve hinted heavily along the same lines. I dont blame him though…had I built it, I’d let the rest of us beg too!

Adam… great looking rig. Just when I think it cannot be any nicer, you go and do this. YN, great job on that one……..

Adam—Where did you get those pistol grips?

That is a project I undertook and made the grip and trigger guard on the mill. Hopefully I will be able to get to design a trigger guard/ AR 15 grip frame that will fit any style of AR15 grips.

I need to get something drawn up and get to work on the mill.

Really nice job!
