Q:

Broken Chuntsman Bam B51 Stock

Cygnusx bought himself a BAM B51 .177 a while ago, he spent a while tuning it to just below 20 fpe and its VERY accurate and consistant.

Then he has a mishap and dropped it off the table….

😯

So offcourse I tell him I can fix it, luckily the break followed the grain and didnt just snap right across the thumbhole section which would have made it a bit more difficult to repair.

As it was, I just had to glue it together & strip the finish

Was stained darker than factory stain.

Made me shooting my .308 barrel (yes.. the entire barrel) look like a small mishap.

Hey Cyg,

I’m sure you’ve counted your blessings. Reading that gave me the chills. Main thing is that you came out unscathed.

Holy crap! I remember the stock pics before but not that story. That woulda got me banned from the inside of the house for sure ).

quote Cygnus X:

fell off the table….not exactly what happened…had valve fail…sending an 868cc bottle flying….it flew right through the the stock of the b51 which was sitting on the floor like it is in the picture……..after that the bottle flew through a moving cardboardbox….down to the back wall….turned around…then through a cardboard box from my speakers that has some very dense foam in it….right through….

I was trying to be kind, lol

it was on my workbench when it failed…whith a huge BOOOOM that felt like standing at the muzzle of a highpowered rifle…luckily i had hearing protection on…and still then it was loud…vaporized my oil cup..so everything was covered in oil….alot of stuff bloken

ohh well i learned….luckily YN said he could fix it…and i must say he did a really good job…the stock looks even better today i think…the finish he gave it is just nice than the stock brown stuff it had….and the crack can be seen…but not noticeable….but a constant reminder…

Be safe !

and TY YN
